2017 Avonworth Soccer Association Winter Training Academy

For the last three years ASA has offered Sunday Futsal to our soccer players through the Gibsonia based Total Futsal along with a weekday winter training session for skill development at the Avonworth High School.  We have received consistent feedback from coaches and parents indicating that the Total Futsal leagues weren’t optimal for our players because of the huge range in the various teams’ skills.  Taking this into consideration as we were building our winter program for 2017, we requested additional gym time from the Avonworth School District with the hopes of offering a more valuable program to our athletes.  Thankfully, the school district provided a total of twelve hours of Sunday gym time for ASA to use to develop our Winter Training Academy.

ASA will be running our first Winter Training Academy program focused on continued skill development while offering competitive game opportunities.  Throughout the season we will be mixing the session formats to include co-ed, boys vs boys, girls vs girls, and mixed age groups.  We will be utilizing both the High School and Middle School gyms each Sunday from January 15^th through March 12^th from 12-6pm and the program is offered for our U5/U6 through U14 players.  Times for the different ages will not be known until registration is complete, but we are working to have our younger players occupy the earlier time slots.  Last winter we had over 120 athletes playing futsal through Avonworth and are hoping, with our new format and closer proximity, to see even more children join in 2017.
